Our success is driven by your success

Since 2002, Lewis Bus Group has supplied the Utah Transit Authority with over 800 para-transit vehicles, designed with you the rider in mind. Top to bottom, end to end, each vehicle is carefully inspected for safety, compliance and completeness before hitting the open road so that you know you’ll get from A to B safely and quickly.

Originally purchased specifically as a paratransit vehicle, these buses are now being utilized to bridge the first mile/last mile gap as well. Not sure what the first mile/last mile gap is? For transit riders who must transition from the station to work and home locations just outside of walking distance, these buses are a speedy and cost-effective advantage over difficult geographic limitations, street networks and pricey personal car services.

“Improving access starts with creating urban environments with cohesive pedestrian and bicycle networks that are inviting and safe, with multiple transportation options available.” The big picture of it all comes down to “increasing the number of transit access points and options.”

The buses are built by Glaval Bus, and have room to sit 10 ambulatory passengers or 6 wheelchair riders and one driver. Each vehicle is equipped with a 1,000 lb. side BraunAbility wheelchair lift and Q-Straint wheelchair securements (additional information listed below – Check out these two LBG endorsed companies!) Each bus comes complete with top of the line HVAC systems for the scorching Utah summers and chilly Utah winters, along with a backup camera and Intermotive ILIS System* allowing the driver to comfortably get you where you’re going.
